A Chill in the Air Tonight

(Dale Inskeep)
A Chill In The Air Tonight

We try and stretch the weather but the summer’s passed
Supper comes around and the daylight doesn’t last
Out on the bay is a single boat mast
Sun sinks on the water so fast

Frost shimmers in the candlelight
A sliver moon wanes up to height
The cedar silhouettes against the stars so bright
There’s a chill in the air tonight
There’s a chill in the air tonight

Pacific Standard Time, Clocks fall back an hour
The weather see’s more than the occasional shower
Petals all fall off the dandelion flower
The jetstream comes along to share its power

Chorus

Steal away the warmth from the campfire in the sand
Keep the fire stoked, the chill makes the demand
Saltwater steam rushes out away from land
The cold runs through my hand

Chorus
