Dale Inskeep: Music

Hanging Out, Then I'm Gone

(Dale Inskeep)
I took a walk a long way from home and I was standing there
I didn't know what time it was, nor did I care
The weather wasn't right for me, hot humid air
I didn't let it get to me, I ordered my steak cooked rare.

I'm hanging out, then I'm gone
Next thing you know it's another song
Good times, I love them dear
But I'm glad to get home here, tonight....

I got to see some new friends of mine, before I saw the plane
They gave me food right from their yard and they seemed glad I came
We sang some songs out in the park, gave each other fame
One more tune before we go, a cure for any pain.

Hanging out, then I'm gone
Next thing you know it's another song
Good times, I love them dear
But I'm glad to get home here, tonight

I finally got there late at night, the porch light was on
Such a special recipe, my mexican martini was gone
Fireworks were out of sight, by Dale and his friend, John
Like a sister we talked all night, we could've talked 'till dawn

Hanging out, then I'm gone
Next thing you know there's another song
Good times, I love them dear
But I'm glad to get home here, tonight...

Hanging out, then I'm gone
